(1) Love and pursuit of wisdom by intellectual means and moral self-discipline. (2) Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods.

What does philosophy have to do with marketing products, inventing, creating or leading companies or nations? Everything!

Who we are and what we do is based on a complex set of assumptions and beliefs, value systems, principles and logic.

This is called philosophy.

My philosophy is forged from five careers spanning five continents. It is a philosophy that I have developed for a new 21st Century world that is interdependent and interconnected and facing great challenges. The many challenges we face are a convergence of several major trends including, east and west, energy and warming, capitalism and socialism, and of course science and faith. This philosophy is a simplification of many beliefs and values, summarized in what I have attempted to be a combination of universally accepted beliefs.

My Beliefs

1. The planet and our diversity of races, cultures and species is an amazing and vibrant eco-system, never in balance but always seeking a higher state of evolution.

 

2. We have both a physical and a spiritual essence and we must become aware of this apparent duality to fully appreciate and embrace the journey of life and grow as a spiritual being within a physical body.

 

3. All humans are created equal and what binds us is far greater than what separates us. We are 99.9 percent the same genetically and our physical bodies are 97 percent the same air, minerals and water. The only thing that makes us different is the mental software installed in our mind and our spiritual purpose and abilities.
4. We are all connected and integrated in the living universe with a single life source and we have known this throughout all time and in all cultures though out all ages.

 

5. Nothing is a coincidence and everything has a purpose and meaning.

 

6. There is far too much fear and suppression of emotions and greed. We must help people overcome these challenges and regain control of their purpose and mission in this lifetime.

 

7. Basic values of ethical behavior, trust, integrity, honor, faith, respect, commitment, compassion, and forgiveness need significant fortification.

 

8. Love is the most powerful force in the universe and it is terribly misunderstood and being trivialized.

 

9. All pain is a requirement of having a physical body but suffering is an option in the mind. Every adversity and problem is a blessing in disguise, an opportunity to grow.

 

10. The power of our thoughts directly affects our daily lives. This is an immutable fact.  Our thoughts manifest our future.

 

11. Overcoming our attachment to materialistic objects and a consumer driven mindset and balancing our way of living with the environment is critical to the survival of our species.

My Vision

I believe that articulating a vision is important. A vision pulls us to a future state as opposed to fear that holds us back. My vision is that before I die, I will have helped millions of people live a more satisfied and successful life by providing premier informational, educational and entertaining products and services that promote human development at four levels, personal, social, professional and global.

To accomplish this, I will help create 50,000 Essence Clubs in one hundred countries using this community site. We will provide stimulating info-edutainment offerings – radio, games, articles, seminars, self help profiling, coaching and professional services - through a network of individuals and companies of like mind and spirit who expand the offerings through a global exchange of essence, the Essence Exchange Network.
