Debbie Dooley is a National Coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots (www.teapartypatriots.org) whose mission is to restore fiscal responsibility, limited government and free markets.
This is a 100 % volunteer assignment for Debbie, who is just one of millions of concerned Americans, worried about the state of our nation and policies.
Debbie has been in the IT field for 12 years as a Systems Administrator. In 1987 - 1992 she served as a liason between the Governor's office and businesses in economic development matters. Debbie currently serves on the Gwinnett County Election and Voter Registration Board as Vice Chairman. This board oversees elections and voter registration in Gwinnett County.
Debbie has been a grassroots activist since 1976 and has been actively involved in over 25 political campaigns and grassroots initiatives. Debbie currently volunteers as Georgia Grassroots Coordinator for FreedomWorks. She recently led protests and town hall meetings to combat a tax increase by the all GOP Gwinnett County Commission. Gwinnett County has a population of over 800,000 people and is one of the largest counties in Georgia.
Debbie became a proud grandmother in December of 2008 and is fighting for the future of her grandson and all grand children. She became increasingly concerned about the size of the government and massive spending which began under the Bush Administration and dramatically increased under the Obama Administration. She began to see freedoms and liberty eroding . She was one of 22 people on the first conference call held in January to plan the February 27, 2009 Tea Party in response to Rick Santelli's rant. Debbie is a co-chair of the Atlanta Tea Party which drew over 20,000 people to the April 15th Tea Party. She has been active with Tea Party Patriots since its inception and previously served as Southeast Regional Coordinator before she was elected to the Board of Directors and national coordinator. Debbie firmly believes that "government governs best when it governs less."
Debbie currently resides in Dacula, Georgia with her husband Phillip, two Chihuahuas and three cats. From time to time she rescues stray dogs and finds good homes for them.
