The Way

The Way is a universal path of life. It is a journey that we all take.

The benefit to understanding The Way is that it helps us move out of fear, resentment, anger, denial and move into a more peaceful life filled with acceptance, forgiveness, patience and of course, love.

The Way also helps us to become all that we are meant to be.

As example, Hellen Keller once said, "A happy life consists not in the absence, but in the mastery of hardships." The Way includes pain, hardships and suffering because it is through these things that we learn the virtues that overcome them. For the person who prays for courage, be prepared to face your greatest fears. For the person that seeks patience, be prepared for challenges and roadblocks at every turn. It is contrary to conventional wisdom.

The Way is both simple and complicated. For you see, The Way is both rigid in design because of how we humans are ‘wired and designed’, but it is completely elastic in how we apply it.

What we get out of our lives, our companies and our country is the manifestation of our thoughts. What we think we are, is. As the essence of an individual is the summation of his principles and actions, so is a nation the aggregate of the collective behaviors and thoughts of its’ people. This is a natural law and if we wish to change our situation, we must collectively learn The Way of prayers, intentions and what is simplistically referred to as positive thinking.

To put this in context, The Way of our lives leads to The Way of a nation and the world and the current multitude of crises we now face is simply a reflection our all of our collective suffering. If we wish to change the world and our problems, we all must decide to change The Way of ourselves.

Humanity continues to perpetuate the illusions of separation, that a person must be exclusively professional or spiritual, scientific or religious, eastern or western, Christian or Muslim, capitalist or socialist, masculine or feminine. The Way converges all of these ideological and theological beliefs and defines the commonalities, misconceptions and illusions and in the process, helps you define your true self - a physical and nonphysical being with tremendous abilities.

I wish you all that life has to offer, and leave you with three thoughts.

First, the Holy Grail of life is not something you can buy, sell or hold, contrary to what Wall Street or Madison Avenue would like you to believe.

Secondly, the one thing I learned that was most important when I broke my neck is this: pain is the inevitable consequence of having a physical body, but suffering is an option created in the mind.

If you find yourself suffering, try going deep inside and do the necessary self exploration to remember your dreams, your purpose and fight for your future. Discover or remember what it is that you love, and do what you love ... and you will not only love what you do but you will love everyone and everything far more.
